Cannigione is unique for its coves and for the green colour of the sea which are tinged from the vegetation that grows right into it. It’s a small village located on the gulf waters and makes for a pleasant walk along the sea to the small church in the square.

San Pantaleo is an inland granite village hosting artisan shops and an interesting market in the central square. The village is surrounded by impressive granite rocks which take on a red, pinkish glow at dusk that is worth seeing. It has with time taken on the role of art development and trade with expositions in the emporiums around the square.

Arcipelago della Maddalena show on map

L’arcipelago della Maddalena, has been a protected reserve for the last few years, can be reached by boats leaving daily from the Baja Sardinia beach. After having seen the most beautiful islands, (Caprera, La Maddalena, Spargi, Budelli, Razzoli e Santa Maria) the boat will bring you back in the late afternoon.

For those that are interested, two of the islands are reachable by car (Caprera e La Maddalena) thanks to a maritime connection between Palau and La Maddalena which is connected to Caprera island with an impressive iron bridge. The island of Caprera is home not only to an uncontaminated land, rich in pine forests which extend until charming beaches with pink granite cliffed beaches, it also happens to be where Giuseppe Garibaldi’s famous home is located.
